Nashville trio verygently announces their debut album SORRY, SARAH will be released on October 9, 2026. They share the news alongside their new single, “CHANGIN’ MY WAYS,” a track that turns late-20s avoidance, bad habits, and half-hearted promises of reinvention into an honest, hooky sing-along confession. Listen to “CHANGIN’ MY WAYS” below and here: https://verygently.ffm.to/changinmyways.
The band shares, “‘CHANGIN’ MY WAYS’ is a song about falling back into old routines and habits. It’s about knowing you desperately need to get your life together. How you’re living isn’t sustainable, but you just keep doing it anyway. You always say you’re ready to start making those changes to your routine, but you inevitably fall right back into the patterns and habits you know will come back to bite you. It’s an anthem for your late 20’s.”
Selected as Gibson Guitars’ May Artist Spotlight, verygently is the collective spark of three established Nashville singer-songwriters—Drew Erwin, Joey Hendricks, and Tristan Bushman—whose longtime collaboration evolved into a band in 2024. After quickly gaining traction on the road with artists like Augustana, The Fray, The Band Camino, and Ruston Kelly, verygently earned a reputation for magnetic live shows that channel their camaraderie into something electric.
With SORRY, SARAH, verygently fully steps into the sound they’ve been honing on the road and across two previously released EPs. The trio offers 11 tracks that are harmony-driven and emotionally direct with a generous dash of wry humor. Across the album, their rich three-part harmonies transform late-20s anxiety, heartbreak, and self-sabotage into a communal, cathartic, and surprisingly fun experience. SORRY, SARAH captures three accomplished writers finding a bigger voice, and undeniable chemistry, together.
“This album is the most actualized version of verygently we’ve ever released,” shares the trio. “After two years of being a band and touring, we feel like this is the closest we’ve gotten to capturing what it is that we do live. It’s three part harmony driven, and the writing process was heavily collaborative between the three of us versus the first two EPs that were more eclectic in the conception of the songs.”
