Beckett recently released the powerful pop ballad “Pale Blue Eyes,” and today, People Magazine premiered the simple, yet emotional music video for its massive online audience. The pale blue eyes of Beckett’s father, acclaimed actor Malcolm McDowell, were the inspiration for the song, and still photos and poignant video of McDowell highlight the love between father and son. The clip can be viewed HERE.
Fans can tune into @malcom_mcdowell and @beckettrex on Instagram Live and @thisisbeckett on TikTok live to hear the story behind the video.
The clip was produced by Kelley McDowell and directed by Chady Awad, the team behind Beckett’s debut clip “Weirdo” earlier this year. McDowell also shot all of the still photos and home movies interspersed throughout the video.
Beckett wrote “Pale Blue Eyes” with Pierre Bouvier, lead singer of Simple Plan. Bouvier also produced the song, which will be included on Beckett’s Weirdo EP later this year. Though his father was the inspiration behind the song, Beckett prefers letting the listener determine what a song means and how it applies to their own life.
